I am a parent of an autistic child and know first hand how hard it can be. Not only to parent your child, but to deal with the well-meaning advice from friends and family.

I remember feeling it was a constant battle for support, whether that be to gain a diagnosis or the right support in school.  It felt like I was fighting a losing battle, and it was exhausting.

There are a lot of things I wish I had known then.  I wish I had benefitted from the depth of knowledge I have now. I wish I had been able to trust my instincts, not judge myself so harshly and not feel that others knew better than me.

I wish I could have gone to someone who understood and asked about certain behaviours my child was exhibiting, things they were struggling with and asked them about neurodivergence.  I wish I could have spoken to someone who understood neurodivergence and gained some better ideas about parenting strategies without being judged or being told to go on a parenting course.

I can help...I have been there.

But I have also studied hard and learned a lot, not only from my personal experience, but professionally and academically.  I have lived and worked with neurodivergence for over 25 years.  I have also completed research which looked at the social and emotional impact of parenting an autistic child, which can be accessed on the next page 'About Me.'

If you are feeling lost or you are worried about your child who you think may be neurodivergent but no one is listening, I can help.  If you are struggling with ideas around parenting, understanding your child's behaviour, struggling to understand the diagnostic pathway or school support systems, I can help you to navigate these.

This is not a counselling session, this is practical advice and support based on my experience.  If you are feeling emotionally distressed then it may be more appropriate to consider counselling sessions with me instead.

Free initial 15 minute consultation

1-1 consultations (or up to 2 primary carers) - £70 per hour

Group (up to 4) - £120 per 1.5hrs

*prices reviewed annually in December
